THURSDAY 27 MARCH
ARRIVALS : ALL GROUPS WILL BE PICKED UP AT CATANIA AIRPORT
10.40 - Turkish group
10.40 - Greek group
15.55 - Romanian group
16.40 - Spanish group
20.40 - Polish group
20.30 - Dinner at ” SCANDURA RESTAURANT “
FRIDAY 28 MARCH
8.15 - At school : guests (students) are introduced to their host friends’ classes
and participate in the morning lessons
9.15 - At school : Spanish teachers meet Italian students who study Spanish.
The other guests meet students of the classical and linguistic courses
who study English.
10.15 - Auditorium : International students and teachers participate in
special classes of geography ( Italy , Sicily and Mount ETNA ) and
Italian language. Presentation of the Italian education system
and of the “ Liceo Verga “
11.10 - Break
11.30 - ZUMBA CLASS for students but ………..also for teachers ! ( if you want)
13.00 - Students have lunch with their host families
13.00 - Teachers have lunch in Adrano
13.00 - Adrano sightseeing : town centre , park, Norman Castle and Dionigiane Walls
15 .00 - German group is picked up
15.00 - Estonian group is picked up
17.30 - Time for shopping : ETNAPOLIS shopping centre
20.30 - Dinner at the restaurant “ L’ANTICO ORTO DEGLI ULIVI “ with Italian teachers.
SATURDAY 29 MARCH
8.00 - Day trip to Syracuse ( Couch departure )
9.30 - Tour of Greek theatres and “ Ear of Dionysius “
13.30 - Lunch at “OPEN LAND RESTAURANT”
-In the afternoon : walking around the old city centre ( Island of Ortygia and Cathedral )
-Visit to “ THE SANCTUARY OF THE MADONNA OF THE TEARS “
20.30 - Dinner at the “ RESTAURANT PARADISE “
22.30 - Workshop for Teachers
SUNDAY 30 MARCH
8.00 - Day trip ( Couch departure )
9.30 - Excursion to Mountain Etna
13.00 - Lunch at the restaurant “ TERRAZZA DELL’ ETNA “
-In the afternoon : Taormina sightseeing ( Greek theatre ,walking around the old town centre)
20.30 Dinner at the restaurant “ LE DELIZIE DELL ‘ETNA “
MONDAY 31 MARCH
9.15 - Meeting with the Headmaster
10.30 - WELCOME SHOW
13.00 - Students have lunch with their host families
13.00 - For teachers : typical Sicilian food “ TAVOLA CALDA ” is recommended !
15.00 - Worshop for international students : presentation of Comenius tasks
17.30 - DISCO PARTY
20.30 - INVITATION : dinner at the “ RESTAURANT PARADISE ” with the presence of the vice-headmistress.
23.00 - Farewell party ( Don’t forget to bring your own traditional music ! )
TUESDAY 1 APRIL
8.00 - Estonian group departure
8.00 - Catania sightseeing tour ( Coach departure)
( Via Etnea, Piazza D’uomo, Piazza Università, Cathedral )
11.00 - “ TEATRO DEI PUPI “ Sicilian puppets theatre ( amusing for students and also for teachers ! )
12.15 - German and Romanian groups departure
12.30 - Visit to the” Roman theatre”
13 .30 - Lunch in Catania
- In the afternoon Sightseeing : Acicastello , Acitrezza and the isle of Cyclops ( where you can admire
the beautiful view ! )
- Time for an icecream ( strawberry or pistachio ? )
20.30 - Dinner : we’ll decide where to go
WEDNESDAY 2 APRIL
Departures
For Greek and Turkish groups the morning will be organized later on.
